During a recent press briefing led by Minister for National Security and Legal Affairs Rayburn Blackmoore, he reiterated the severity of buggery as a punishable offense in Dominica.
The conference aimed to clarify misconceptions surrounding recent court rulings concerning sections 14 and 16 of the Sexual Offenses Act.
Despite the court's decision recognizing the rights of consenting same-sex adults, Blackmoore emphasized that buggery remains illegal and carries significant legal repercussions, particularly involving minors.
He underscored the importance of upholding the rule of law within the democratic framework, irrespective of personal beliefs.
