Dominicans and their Caribbean counterparts now have
a unique opportunity to delve into the sharp mind and indomitable spirit of their legendary Prime Minister, Dame Eugenia Mary Charles. The book, ‘Dame Eugenia Unedited’, released by Dominican cultural icon and political scientist Alex “Pawol” Bruno, presents absorbing excerpts from his 1999 interview with Dame Eugenia. The book chronicles the entire last full-length official interview granted by Eugenia.
Bruno said, “I believe it’s vital for Dominicans to learn from Dame Eugenia’s perspectives and reflections. Her inspirational vision and dignified sense of purpose transcend time. I trust that her profound insights shared in this book will serve as an invaluable beacon of inspiration for the people of Dominica and beyond.”
The book represents the start of Bruno’s mission to illuminate the rich political history and tradition, and vibrant arts and culture of Dominica. This includes the production of other books in the Dominica Political Leadership Legacy Series (DPLLS); crafting short biographies of visionary leaders; creating children’s books that delve into the island’s traditions, and producing multi-media visual presentations that encapsulate the strength, diversity, and splendor of Dominican life.
