Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says the commitment remains there to pay universities where Dominican students are studying abroad.
He says it has been a challenge, however it will not waiver their policy to provide scholarships for more young citizens to go on to achieve tertiary education.
Letters from universities overseas have circulated over the years informing the government of outstanding fees for students, and demanding payments.
Some students have even reported that notice had also been given to vacate their dorms in some instances.
